The Great DOLLY Clothes Swap
On Earth Day, Tuesday 22nd April
At Projects, Nile St, Brighton
In celebration, recognition, jubilation, anticipation and all round esteem of Earth Day 2025, we are Brighton-bound for the next Great DOLLY Clothes Swap.
It’s no coincidence that Earth Day is the first day of Fashion Revolution Week. The negative environmental and social impact of our clothes is mind-boggling. But the positive impact of swapping instead of shopping is surprisingly powerful. So please come along and be the change this Earth Day!

Clothes Swap Rules:
Slow. It. Down.
A jumble sale this Ain’t. There’ll be no frenzied rush, no sharp elbows, no snatch & grab.
We’ll have timed slots and refresh the swaps at intervals, so there will always be ‘new’ clothes on the rails.
2. No thinking about money!
We charge a set fee for the EVENT because swapping instead of shopping gives us the opportunity to think about the true cost of our clothing.
The value of each garment lies in how much you love it, wear it and keep it.

3. It’s a social, not a shop
The best thing about a clothes swap is that it’s a lovely safe space to experiment and enjoy clothes in a new way.
Diana and her team of alteration experts and seamsters will be on hand to talk you through endless possibilities for making your new-to-you gems your own.
We’re all super chatty - just giving you fair warning ;)
Here’s how it works:
Grab yourself a ticket and choose a time slot HERE
Drop off your swaps at Projects beforehand or bring them with you. We’ll manage the garments so the rails are replenished constantly throughout the swap.
Come to the Globe Room at Projects and browse the collection of good quality clothes looking for a new life. Take home anything you promise to keep in circulation, wear and love.
Like all DOLLY swaps, it’s 'bring what you can, take what you like'. But we encourage you to consider what you take, chat to us and get free advice on alterations and tweaks.
Polite notice to traders: We’ve worked hard to create a friendly social atmosphere and make our swaps a true community event. So, in order to protect that we don't admit traders into the main swap, but we've added a free slot at the end when you are welcome to come along and take as many garments as you like. Let's support each other to keep clothes in circulation and out of landfills!
